Anticipating the storm is also a way to innovate.
18 February 2026In recent weeks, the Iberian Peninsula has been under the influence of several storms—Goretti, Ingrid and Joseph—which have brought cold weather, rain and wind to almost the entire country. And, as always, while some were caught off guard by the storm, others were already prepared: they equipped their cars with the necessary supplies, changed their route or reinforced their roofs before the storm arrived.
That, in essence, is what it means to watch and monitor the environment.
Observing what is happening around us — whether it be the sky or the market — allows us to act before the effects hit us. Just as a good weather forecast helps us avoid risks, well-structured monitoring within an organisation allows us to anticipate changes in the environment.
When we monitor the weather:
We reduce risks → we change our route if there is a snow warning, we take an umbrella before it rains, or we reinforce doors or windows that could be affected by the wind.
We discover opportunities → we take advantage of the snow to learn to ski, plan a different getaway, or enjoy the scenery with family and friends.
The same applies to organisations: monitoring the environment not only serves to protect us, but also to anticipate, identify new opportunities and adapt intelligently.
In business, as in meteorology, the difference lies not in avoiding storms, but in knowing how to read the sky in time.
And at InTool, we help every organisation to have its own strategic weather radar.
